The Founder

Kumar Deepraj

Deepraj’s educational journey laid a strong foundation for his legal career, beginning with his early schooling at Saint Teresa School in Bhagalpur at Bihar, where he completed his pre-primary education from LKG to Class I. This nurturing environment fostered his curiosity and love for learning.

He then transitioned to Saint Joseph’s Public School, Sitamarhi, Bihar, where he completed his primary education. During this time, Deepraj developed a keen interest in extracurricular activities, actively participating in various events that enhanced his leadership and teamwork skills. The transition of cities during his school days happened, as his father was a Government Servant, who used to get transferred.

Deepraj continued his academic pursuits at Nikhil Shyama DAV Public School in Sitamarhi, Bihar, where his stream was Science during his intermediate studies. Here, he was, albeit average in academics, but was more into co-curricular activities, which further shaped his ability to balance academics with personal interests and social engagement.

These formative years instilled in him a strong sense of discipline, curiosity, and a passion for holistic development, qualities that have significantly contributed to his success as a legal professional.

Deepraj’s college years at Lloyd Law College, Greater Noida, were pivotal in shaping his legal acumen and passion for human rights. Pursuing a Bachelor of Laws (B.A. LL.B.), he immersed himself in a rigorous academic environment that encouraged critical thinking and practical application of legal principles.

During his time at Lloyd, Deepraj actively participated in a variety of extracurricular activities, including moot court competitions, which sharpened his advocacy skills and provided a platform to engage with complex legal issues. He thrived in group exercises and community visits, emphasizing the importance of practical experience in understanding the law impact on society.

During his formative academic years in the college, Deepraj played a pivotal role in organizing the second and third editions of the prestigious Prof. N.R. Madhava Menon SAARCLAW Mooting Competition and Law Students Conference. These experiences not only refined his organizational abilities but also facilitated invaluable interactions with eminent legal figures, including apex court justices, senior advocates, and academicians from various SAARC nations. Working closely with the late Padma Shree Prof. (Dr.) N.R. Madhava Menon significantly enriched his understanding of modern Indian legal education.

In addition to his studies, Deepraj attended the 19th Human Rights Summer School in Bangladesh, a prestigious two-week residential program organized by Empowerment Through Law of the Common People (ELCOP). This enriching experience included formal teaching, training sessions, and collaborative exercises focused on human rights education. Under the guidance of esteemed faculty, including Prof. (Dr.) Mizanur Rahman, former Chairman of the National Human Rights Commission of Bangladesh, Deepraj gained invaluable insights into human rights advocacy and legal reform.

This commitment to human rights and active engagement in legal practices during his college years not only enhanced Deepraj’s knowledge but also ignited a lifelong passion for contributing to justice and equality. His college experience laid a strong foundation for his future endeavors in the legal field.

Deepraj possesses extensive experience across a broad spectrum of litigation, dispute resolution, and advisory mandates, appearing before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, Tribunals, Consumer Fora, and Regulatory Authorities. His practice is rooted in strategic litigation management, meticulous legal drafting, and commercially pragmatic dispute resolution.

His core area of expertise lies in Civil and Commercial Litigation, with substantial exposure in complex contractual disputes, recovery proceedings, property disputes, injunction matters, execution proceedings, and corporate litigation. He regularly advises and represents clients in matters involving breach of contract, specific performance, landlord-tenant disputes, title and possession conflicts, and high-stakes interim relief proceedings.

Deepraj has developed significant proficiency in Arbitration matters, particularly in construction and infrastructure disputes. His practice includes arbitration strategy, Section 9 and Section 11 proceedings, challenges under Sections 34 and 37 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996, enforcement proceedings, and representation in domestic and international commercial arbitrations. He advises contractors, developers, and corporate entities on dispute avoidance mechanisms, claims management, and contractual risk mitigation.

He also possesses extensive experience in Consumer Litigation and Real Estate Regulatory matters, including proceedings before the National Consumer Disputes Redressal Commission (NCDRC), State Commissions, and authorities under the Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 (RERA). His work frequently involves disputes concerning delayed possession, deficiency in service, builder-buyer conflicts, and regulatory compliance.

In the field of Constitutional and Administrative Law, he regularly handles writ petitions involving judicial review, regulatory actions, procedural impropriety, and challenges to quasi-judicial orders. He has also been engaged in matters involving public authorities, statutory interpretation, and questions concerning procedural fairness and exercise of governmental powers.

Deepraj has previously contributed to legislative and policy-oriented work with the Legislative Department, Ministry of Law and Justice, where he was associated with significant legislative initiatives, including the Fugitive Economic Offenders Bill and the Surrogacy Amendment Bill. This exposure has strengthened his understanding of statutory interpretation, legislative intent, and policy-driven legal frameworks.

His practice is distinguished by detailed legal research, persuasive advocacy, and solution-oriented representation tailored to the commercial and strategic interests of clients.

Enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi in July 2019, Deepraj has, within a comparatively short span of practice, built a diverse and substantial litigation portfolio across multiple forums, including the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India, various High Courts, Tribunals, Consumer Fora(s), and Regulatory Authorities. His legal journey reflects a combination of rigorous courtroom exposure, legislative experience, commercial dispute resolution, and independent advocacy.

From the very inception of his practice, Deepraj was exposed to a wide spectrum of litigation involving civil, commercial, constitutional, arbitration, consumer, and real estate disputes. He has represented and assisted in matters involving complex contractual disputes, execution proceedings, landlord-tenant litigation, possession and title conflicts, insolvency-related disputes, regulatory challenges, and high-value arbitration proceedings. Over the years, he has worked alongside senior advocates, law offices, corporate entities, developers, and institutional clients in matters involving nuanced questions of law and procedure.

Deepraj has also advised and represented several corporate and real estate entities in contentious litigation and arbitration proceedings. His practice has particularly evolved in the field of commercial disputes and construction arbitration, including proceedings under Sections 9, 11, 34, and 37 of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996. He has been involved in matters concerning infrastructure projects, builder-buyer disputes, execution of decrees, consumer litigation before the NCDRC and State Commissions, and constitutional challenges before superior courts.

One of the defining milestones of his legal career came in June 2025, when he successfully qualified the prestigious Advocate-on-Record Examination conducted by the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India in his very first attempt. The Advocate-on-Record (“AOR”) qualification is regarded as one of the most demanding professional examinations within the Indian legal system. Conducted under the authority of the Supreme Court Rules, the examination assesses an advocate’s proficiency in Supreme Court practice and procedure, drafting, professional ethics, and substantive law.

The AOR qualification carries exceptional professional significance because, under the Supreme Court Rules, only an Advocate-on-Record is authorised to file and act for a party before the Hon’ble Supreme Court of India. In practical terms, an AOR functions as the recognised procedural officer of the litigant before the Supreme Court and bears direct responsibility for filings, procedural compliance, pleadings, and conduct of the case. Consequently, the qualification is widely regarded as a mark of professional competence, procedural mastery, and institutional credibility within the legal fraternity.

Every year, only a limited number of advocates across the country are able to clear the examination, despite several years of mandatory training and extensive preparation. Qualifying the examination in the very first attempt, and at a comparatively young age, placed Deepraj amongst one of the youngest advocates in the country to achieve this distinction. The accomplishment reflects not only academic and procedural excellence, but also sustained courtroom experience and disciplined professional preparation.

Throughout his practice, Deepraj has worked on several high-stakes and legally significant matters involving corporate entities, real estate developers, commercial establishments, and private litigants. His exposure includes matters resulting in important judicial pronouncements concerning execution proceedings, arbitration law, consumer disputes, property rights, and procedural safeguards. His approach to litigation is grounded in detailed legal research, strategic case management, and persuasive advocacy tailored to the commercial and legal objectives of the client.

Today, his independent practice continues to expand across the fields of commercial litigation, arbitration, constitutional remedies, and appellate advocacy, with a particular focus on complex disputes requiring strategic legal intervention before constitutional courts and specialised tribunals.

The legal profession is continuously evolving with changing commercial realities, technological advancement, and the increasing complexity of disputes. Deepraj believes that effective legal practice today requires not only a strong foundation in law and advocacy, but also the ability to adapt, innovate, and respond strategically to emerging legal challenges.

His approach to legal practice is rooted in combining traditional principles of advocacy with modern, research-driven and technology-enabled solutions. From complex commercial disputes and arbitration proceedings to constitutional and regulatory litigation, emphasis is placed on precision in drafting, structured legal strategy, and efficient case management. The objective is not merely to conduct litigation, but to provide clients with practical, commercially viable, and result-oriented legal solutions.

A strong focus is maintained on continuous legal research and evolving jurisprudence, particularly in areas such as arbitration law, digital regulation, commercial litigation, consumer protection, real estate disputes, and procedural law. By staying closely aligned with recent judicial developments and legislative changes, the practice seeks to provide clients with advice that is both legally sound and strategically effective.

Innovation in legal practice also involves accessibility and responsiveness. Efforts are consistently made to ensure transparent communication, timely legal assistance, and structured advisory support for clients navigating complex disputes and regulatory frameworks. The integration of technology into legal drafting, research, documentation, and case preparation enables greater efficiency and precision while maintaining the highest professional standards.

Beyond courtroom advocacy, there is a continued commitment towards legal writing, academic engagement, and analysis of emerging areas of law. Through articles, research, and public legal discourse, the practice aims to contribute meaningfully to conversations surrounding procedural fairness, dispute resolution, constitutional governance, digital regulation, and access to justice.

The vision of the practice is to build a modern and intellectually rigorous legal platform that combines advocacy, innovation, and strategic thinking while remaining firmly anchored in professional ethics, client trust, and excellence in legal representation.
